		<description>agreed, &quot;promote and encourage the original&quot; is always difficult but doing so provides a segue for adoption. it&#039;s almost like a sales strategy - you have to find a way to relate to the customer.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;as for &quot;don&#039;t just copy&quot;, bad copycats can definitely make it in foreign countries. china&#039;s xiaonei totally ripped off facebook, even in their college market entry point. however at that point, it&#039;s almost like a niche product with the outward appearance of a bad copycat.</description>

		<description>Good stuff.  I know there was a point in my naive life where I used to think that great business ideas were inventions or things that people had never thought of before.  If you REALLY, REALLY look at some of the best performing companies out there usually they didn&#039;t invent their markets.  They just took an idea, improved it, and then developed their niche audience to build a great business.  Its a great perspective and even translates outside of the technical world.  Think Wal-Mart.  I would only add that you can&#039;t put enough focus on #3.  To many companies get stuck following, instead of leading out into the market.  Don&#039;t be afraid to take a few wrong steps.  That&#039;s whats going to get you customer 510,222 and not stuck pleasing customer 1,005.</description>
