Ideas or Action?
June 6, 2008 – 4:15 pmJoe Wheeler has a good post about what an idea is worth without action.
To me, it’s obviously a false choice as you need to have both to be successful.
What’s astounding though is how many “startup guys” think you have to think your idea all the way through before the action starts. They’ll sit and think and think and bitch and moan and hide their brilliant idea for fear that someone will steal it and blah blah blah. Sometimes you just have to STFU and start moving.
When it comes to ideas or action, it really doesn’t matter which comes first. Quite frankly, I’d advise most startups to just start moving right away….because your B-plan is probably going to be worth less than the paper it’s written on once you start moving anyway.
Oh, and if you can’t think and do at the same time, entrepreneurship is probably not for you.
