Pappy Van Winkle 23 year old

March 14, 2009 – 12:25 am

The best bourbon ever created is Pappy Van WInkle’s Family Reserve, 23 year old.

It retails for $200 per bottle, and I would be shocked if the price doesn’t outperform the Dow over the next decade.

It should be served either neat (which means room-temp, in a glass by itself) or on the rocks (3-5 ice cubes).

This is the perfect drink for a man who understands and appreciates excellence and fine quality.  To be shared liberally, but only with friends and associates of the highest order.

A toast…..”to victory!”

PLEASE:  Reserve the comments on this post only for those who have experienced the pappy.  If you haven’t yet, get a bottle…..wait for victory….enjoy it on the evening of your victory, and come back to tell me just how right I was.

  • My man! 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve...a recipe for perfection. It just can't be beat.

We're (Backroad) writing a song devoted to Bourbon. I'm going to share one of the lines I've written, even though it doesn't pertain directly to the Bourbon you speak of on this post. It goes a little somethin' like this... "I had to pinch myself cause I thought I was in a dream, the first time I took a sip of Pappy 15."

We need to share some 23 very soon.
