Thoughts, as they come: July 21st edition

July 21, 2009 – 3:00 pm

Due to the generous well-wishes of others, I was briefly caught up this morning in a moment of baseless pride. It’s as if the birthday odometer turning over to 32 was in itself some type of victory. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Wins are achieved through actions, not the passage of time.

With that said, there are a few things floating around in ol’ duder’s head here:

  • The market trades lower from here, most likely due to an “international event”, within the next 90 days.
  • Supporting a higher income tax rate for others than for yourself is selfish, immoral and hypocritical.
  • I’m back on the iPhone after dropping my blackberry bold in the toilet (that’s where it belonged, if you know what I mean).  I’m diggin’ the iphone, mostly due to the copy/paste function and increased speed of software.
  • Pappy 23 > Pappy 15 > Bookers > everything else.  You Woodford Reserve guys are nuts.
  • Lists of five are quite a bit more impressive than lists of four
  • Two things:

The new copy/paste feature is fantastic.

"Wins are achieved through actions, not the passage of time." Well said.
  • I have to admit, that Pappy 15 was pretty good the other night. In fact, I'm probably blaspheming but I liked it better than the 23 (ducking)!

As for Bookers v. Woodford, we'll have to agree to disagree. I just think Booker's is inferior. Knob Creek, either.
