Investor Announcements

September 9, 2009 – 8:00 am

Announcements are never as important as you think they are.  ESPECIALLY ones about someone investing in your company.

Just make sure your site is up and people can contact you easily…and you are responsive to those that do.

Other than that, what you say in the announcement really doesn’t matter.  Everyone knows why you took the money (because you could), and why the investor invested (because they want to make a bunch of money off of your idea, your execution, their risk and their connections).

What they REALLY want to know is the stuff you probably won’t be telling them anyway.

Keep it short and positive.

Use the opportunity to take the attention and redirect the 99.99% of people that are NOT investing in your company towards the story that you want them to hear.

As always, it’s what comes next that matters.
